Meet Julie: Your Local Photographer in Plymouth, MN

Portraits of Julie in different shirts with different job titles showcasing a humorous way to tell everyone that she operates her business alone.

Fun Facts:
1. I love to paddle board.
2. I’m kind of a picky eater–but definitely way less than as a kid. If I had to eat one food for the rest of my life it would definitely be potatoes.
3. I love to lift weights when I can find the time.
4. My favorite color is purple, followed by teal for a close second.
5. I’ve been a professional photographer for over 14 years!
6. I can recite the alphabet backward really fast.
7. I’m not an early-morning person.
8. My favorite band is Foo Fighters.

I’m a mom, a wife, a photographer, an accountant, an adventurer, and a continuous learner. We live a busy life, but we do our best to make the most of it. Our family spends summers biking, kayaking, paddle boarding, camping, watching the girls play softball, boating and swimming. We don’t let the snow stop us either. In the winter you’ll find us out snowboarding, skiing and ice skating.

HOW I GOT HERE

It started with a love for documenting life. I was capturing moments with my little 110 film camera before I had even hit my teenage years. As I was nearing the end of my high school years, my parents bought me a 35mm film camera. I used it to document so many photos of my littlest sisters (they are 13 & 15 years younger than me) and high school memories. I absolutely loved it. I even photographed my very first wedding at the age of 15/16!

I moved over to the digital world in 2010 and in 2011, I took the plunge and started a photography business. It brings me joy to capture fleeting moments and to preserve those memories for generations to come. I love what I do and I couldn’t imagine a better way to spend my time.

I find so much joy in capturing the everyday moments of childhood….from birth to the toddler years, school-age, the teen years and beyond.
