Meet Liz, founder of The Wave Coalition. Liz is extremely passionate about her non-profit that she runs with four others. They have joined forces to bring conservation education & marine science into classrooms for a fun unique experience, they are working on a scuba diving program and so many other amazing things. Liz is very passionate about bringing the ocean to underserved communities through STEM education.

I found a post on Facebook in a group that we are both part of (I’ll admit, I don’t remember which one), where she was looking to provide her services for social media management and personal assistant services, to help support WAVE. She posted a candid photo of herself & I was drawn to reach out to her.

I thought, “this person looks super friendly, has drive & I would love to meet her, learn about her non-profit & provide her with some amazing headshots.” I don’t normally randomly reach out to people I don’t know, but I just felt like I had to & hoped that she didn’t think I was a crazy person, hahaha!

After I photographed headshots for Liz we sat down & talked about The Wave Coalition, what it is, why it exists, and where she would like to see it go. There are big plans in the works for this amazing non-profit organization & I cannot wait to see it all come together.

Liz & I talked about how in today’s job market, employers want you to have hands-on experience for entry level jobs. Her organization aims to be able to provide some of those crucial experiences to help jumpstart those career paths.

WAVE has several programs to bring their passion to YOU through their educational workshops, animal outreach programs, and community engagement activities.
