There’s something so special about watching a baby grow through their first year—and getting to document that journey is one of my favorite parts of being a photographer. I had the absolute joy of capturing Lucy’s newborn, six-month, and one-year milestones, and it’s safe to say she made each session unforgettable.
We started at home with her newborn session, when she was just a few days old. The calm and cozy setting was perfect—soft natural light filtering in, quiet moments with her mama, and tiny yawns that melted my heart. She was curled up, surrounded by love, and already showing off a peaceful little personality. These at-home sessions always feel so intimate and tender—there’s a kind of magic in capturing a new family settling into their rhythm.
Fast forward six months, and Lucy came to visit me in the studio with big bright eyes, sitting up like a pro and flashing the sweetest smiles. Her six-month session was full of curiosity and those delicious baby rolls that every parent wants to remember forever. She was so expressive—every coo and curious glance at my camera felt like she was letting me in on a little secret.
And then came the grand finale: her one-year session, complete with a cake smash that I’ll be talking about for years. I’ve seen my share of cake smashes, but Lucy set the gold standard. From the moment the cake hit the floor, she dove in—face first. Frosting flew, giggles filled the studio, and before we knew it, she was rubbing buttercream on her legs like it was her favorite lotion. It was hilarious, messy, and absolutely perfect.
Watching this little girl grow, change, and light up every room she enters has been an incredible honor. Her first year flew by, and these photos now tell the story of how much love and joy she’s brought into the world already.
