I guess it only seems appropriate to officially announce my photography niche shift on the blog. I’ve been photographing babies, children, families, high school seniors, weddings, headshots, and maternity portraits for 13 years. However, I’ve been moving in the direction of specializing in professional headshots for the last couple years. I love creating images that show a high level of professionalism while getting to meet new people and travel to new places & businesses. Headshots and personal branding overlap in a way, in that a person is looking to put their best face forward. I started diving into the world of branding photography because I was doing research for myself and my own business. The more I studied the topic, the more interested & excited I became to work with other professionals and entrepreneurs to create images to showcase their unique story and personality.

In a world where first impressions are everything, investing in your personal brand can set you apart, attract your ideal audience, and elevate your online presence. Your clients want to know you, like you and trust you before they even walk in the door. Telling your story through personal branding is the perfect way to connect with your clients on a deeper level while showing them what their experience will be like when they work with you.

You know who else loves to tell their story through photographs? High school seniors, of course (or maybe they don’t, but their parents want them to 😉 ). I love helping seniors tell their high school story through picking out fun locations or colors, using meaningful props, or just capturing their style and amazing smiles. Seniors are so fun to work with because they each have their own story to tell. I love learning about their interests, future plans, or favorite activities.

What does all of this mean for all of my families? I’m still here! You’ll just likely see more headshot work, whether it’s behind-the-scenes setups before I start a job or a couple of images from a recent session.
