Since becoming a photographer, my family has not gone anywhere else to get family portraits done except for one year when I hired my great friend and photographer to do them for us. That being said, I wanted to take you back through our past sessions we have done thanks to my tripod setup and handy little remote shutter release.
Color coordination is extremely pleasing to the eye, but also allows for a cohesive look while letting each individual shine through. Sometimes I feel like we’ve done it all and yes, we do end up repeating colors, but everyone changes and so does their outfit (mostly! If you look close you might find my son wearing the same shirt two years in a row). I tried SO HARD to find him something else but the best I could come up with was a shirt that was exactly the same as his sister, so we opted for him to wear the same one two years in a row. Good thing he didn’t grow enough to grow out of it (and it sure would be nice if he would stop it now that he towers over both of us!!!!). Kids grow way too quick and my mommy heart is not taking it too well. I’m not ready for my kids to grow up.
Back to the subject at hand (I go off track real quick when I think about my kids getting so old). We have experimented with colors over the years and I obviously have seen tons of families come in with amazingly coordinated outfits. If you ever have any questions about how to put together a great look for your family photos or want suggestions on how to put things together, PLEASE don’t hesitate to reach out to me before your session so I can help you. I am more than happy to provide a free wardrobe consultation to make sure you get the best possible images from your session!
